(March 23, 2014) In a star studded lineup of East Coast junior golfers, Johnnie "Golf" Clark has wrapped up an impressive 3rd place finish. Johnnie has shot to the top of the field for this year's Age 9 field with this most recent 3rd place finish in the US Kids Golf regional tournament in Jekyll Island, GA and a 1st place finish in the US Kids Golf regional tournament; the Desert Shootout in Arizona last month.
With his loyalist Arizona supports in tow, Johnnie started off at Jekyll Island with 1st round birdies on 12, 16, and 18. Overall he rounded out the day in 5th place and a 4 over par with a strong 74, putting Johnnie in contention for a shot at the #1 spot on day 2.
Day 2 eclipsed day 1 where Johnnie was in a perfect position to attack the top 4 golfers on the field from behind. Depsite a bogie on 1, he kept his cool and pared the next 5 holes to keep pace with equally talented junior golfer and rival Allan Kournikova . Allan birdied the 409 yard 7 while Johnnie matched with a bogie. Johnnie battled for the remaining 11 holes with 2 more birdies and finished solidly in 3rd for the tournament.
